The German manufacturer of special forestry tractors (skidders) Welte Fahrzeugbau GmbH has incorporated innovations into its machines and is currently introducing new products in the form of the W100 and W230 skidders, with which it is carrying out practical tests in the stands. At Welte, small innovations are regularly incorporated into production based on customer requirements. Now it is time to transfer the changes to all series. After the W100, it is now the turn of the six-cylinder W230 model series – the prototype is currently completing its first practical tests in the stands near the city of Freiburg.

The Welte W100 special forest tractor is the 3rd generation of skidders, which is more compact, agile and efficient than ever before. Thanks to our newly developed modular carrier system, the machine is also more versatile than any other on the market – with the W100, both forestry and municipal work of all kinds can be carried out reliably and efficiently. Instead of a large number of special vehicles, only one machine is needed.
The W230 forestry tractor features a patented Welte clamp and a HZM 14 double-drum winch with a pulling force of 14 tons (2x 70 kN, 2x 90 m rope, rope thickness 13 mm). Together with the Epsilon X150R hydraulic arm, it is the ideal machine for approaching logs in full lengths. The new design brings a new panoramic cabin, which offers an optimal all-round view of the working area and intuitively controlled functions for maximum comfort.
